Tuesday looks like the first day it will get under water so I’ll post an update then. If you can find a YouTube video of someone shooting a Kap you can see just how smooth and one-handed they shoot. It is ballasted with KAP’s own specific system. It’s VERY streamlined and lacks the bulk for a gun if it’s size. Really happy with the KAP gun now that I have had time to rig it and check out the curves. I had that happen once and it was no fun with a fish on the other side going crazy. I really like the simplicity, but most is the way it sits flush to the gun so a loop of line cannot come off of the reel and wrap the spindle under the reel. I added the Aussie Reel after looking at a couple options. This shouldnt come as a surprise with such a diverse lineup of models. Jacob Ramey was awesome to speak with and had it not been for an additional 2 month wait and a few hundred dollars more to come up with, it would have been him. Kap, Ramey and a maker I choose not to disclose yet. The Kap was one of the guns that fit everything but I had three that I was contemplating. I was looking for a little length for Mu and possible Uku’s, but also just everyday reef fish. Many divers use them over here and they looked to shoot so very smooth. After shooting Mid handle Wong’s for many years I decided I wanted to try a rear handle.
